4-8-2010 Virginia:On March 4, inmate Billy Ray Webb, 24, tried to hang himself in the Virginia Beach City Jail. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died the same day, according to police spokeswoman, Officer Margie Hobbs.
Hobbs said that the death was not initially made public due to VBPD policy.
According to court documents, Webb was arrested three days before his death, on March 1, and charged with felony possession of child pornography and felony production, publication, sale or financing of child pornography involving a child younger than 15.
Police took Webb into custody after discovering the pornographic images on his computer.
Webb worked at a Burger King in Virginia Beach and reportedly had no family in the area.
Webb’s was the fifth reported suicide by hanging in the Virginia Beach City Jail since 1999. ..Source.. by Dave Gibson
