Sex offender found dead at Florence prison

A convicted child sex offender has been found dead at the state prison in Florence.

The Arizona Department of Corrections issued a statement Monday saying that Matthew Goodwin, 36, was found Friday hanging from a shower in the Arizona State Prison Complex-Eyman's Cook Unit.

ADOC said an investigation was continuing and that an autopsy would be conducted.

ADOC said Goodwin had been in prison since Jan. 19, 2007, after being sentenced in Pima County to nearly 77 years for sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated assault. ..Source.. by KTAR.com

Body found in DC park is suspected abductor of Relisha Rudd, 8, police say

The body found in a Washington, D.C., park is that of a man who was suspected of abducting an 8-year-old girl, police said Tuesday.

Relisha Rudd has been missing since March 1, when she was last seen with Kahlil Tatum, a 51-year-old janitor at the homeless shelter where Relisha lived.

"It appears the body has been dead for about 36 hours," D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier told reporters Tuesday, adding that the cause of death was suicide.

Lanier said Tuesday she was "hoping to finish the search of the park by the close of the day" Wednesday.

The search for Relisha intensified last week when authorities began combing Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens. The search was prompted by evidence that Tatum had spent time there after Relisha's disappearance.

Body found in marina ID'd as Belfair man charged with child porn

4-1-2014 Washington:

BREMERTON — The body found floating near the Bremerton Marina Tuesday was identified as a high-profile Belfair man charged with possession of child pornography last week.

Frank Edward McDonald, 52, apparently killed himself, according to a statement from the Bremerton Police Department.

He was released from the Mason County Jail on Friday without bail following a hearing before Superior Court Judge Toni Sheldon.

McDonald’s body was recovered by Bremerton police and fire department along with Navy personnel at around 11:30 a.m.

McDonald was a volunteer fire captain and an elected commissioner of Mason County Public Hospital District No. 2.
