An inmate charged with sex crimes with a minor committed suicide in jail, Riverside County sheriff’s officials said.
Corrections deputies found Larry Rivers, 46, unconscious and unresponsive in his cell at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside early Friday morning, Nov. 9, a sheriff’s news release stated Paramedics were called to administer first aid, but Rivers was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Rivers committed suicide, though the sheriff’s news release did not mention how the inmate died. There was no evidence of foul play or that Rivers was assaulted. An autopsy and coroner's review is pending.
Rivers was booked into the jail for investigation of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 on Oct. 31. ..Source.. by DAVID KECK
