2-8-2012 Pennsylvania:
A Vandergrift man committed suicide on Monday, the day he was scheduled for trial on sexual assault charges, authorities said.
James A. Loughner, 60, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence, according to the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office.
Loughner was accused by Vandergrift police of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old mentally challenged woman twice, once at his apartment in late 2010 and later at her home on Jan. 1, 2011. The victim allegedly asked Loughner to stop touching her during both instances, but Loughner told the woman to "relax" and continued, according to court documents.
The woman told police that Loughner had apologized to her after the first incident and promised that it wouldn't happen again. Police said she believed him and invited the defendant to her apartment to watch a hockey game. ..Source.. by Tribune-Review
