Relatives Identify Victim
FLORISSANT, Colo. -- A man is found dead in Florissant Saturday. His mother-in-law told TARGET 13 that he committed suicide after being accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Betty McDonald identified the victim as Rocky Clark, 62. His body was discovered at about 11:30 a.m. near the lake of the Wilson Lakes subdivision, where Clark lived with his wife. McDonald told TARGET 13 that a teen in the neighborhood had accused Clark of sex assault.
"It was just more than he could handle," said McDonald. "He couldn't stand for the public to think poorly of him."
On Wednesday, the Teller County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants for Clark's home on Freeman Drive, as well as for two people who live there.
"We feel real good about what we've obtained, and we're going to go forward with it," said Sheriff Mike Ensminger on Thursday.
Ensminger said the sex assault allegedly happened for "well over two years." He said Thursday that an arrest warrant could be issued soon.
McDonald said she believed the allegations against her son-in-law were fabricated.
"I just don't believe a word of it," said McDonald. "I can't believe anything bad about Rocky."
The sheriff's office has not made any connection between the death and the sex assault case. Investigators said they don't want to jeopardize the sex assault investigation. They also aren't talking about how Clark died. An autopsy is expected on Monday. ..Source.. by LINDSAY WATTS, KRDO NewsChannel 13

Death In Florissant Ruled Suicide
LORISSANT, Colo. -- The Teller Co. Sheriff's Office said Monday that a man found dead in Florissant over the weekend committed suicide. Relatives identified the man as Rocky Clark, and said he took his life because he was distraught over recent allegations of sex assault on a teenage girl.
Clark was found at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday near the lake of the Wilson Lakes subdivision. Neighbors reported seeing him riding a tractor in that area a short time before his body was found.
Sheriff Mike Ensminger said he couldn't talk about how Clark died because the coroner's office has not released its report yet.
Clark's mother-in-law said he had been accused of sexually assaulting a neighbor.
"It was just more than he could handle," said McDonald. "He couldn't stand for the public to think poorly of him."

Couple accused of repeatedly raping young pre-teen neighbor in Teller County
A Florrisant teenager claims she was raped more than 30 times by her 59-year-old neighbor, Karen Clark, and Clark’s late 62-year-old husband, Bruce Gilbert “Rocky” Clark, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported this afternoon.
The girl eventually told her mother that the assaults allegedly began when she was 11 or 12 years old and continued for about two years, the paper reported from court documents. The assaults began after she returned an item that her mother had borrowed from the Clarks, the documents said.
Karen Clark was arrested Dec. 1.
Public records show Bruce Clark died on Nov. 26. The Teller County Coroner’s Office said he died from a gunshot to the head. ..Continued..
