Suspect in teen sex assault commits suicide

4-14-2011 Pennsylvania:

A North Strabane man charged two weeks ago with sexually assaulting a teenaged girl was found dead in his home last night of an apparent suicide.

Kenneth M. Glen, 49, was found dead by a friend just after 6 p.m. inside his home in the 200 block of Meadowview Drive, North Strabane Police said.

The Washington County Coroner's office said he died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Glen, who was unemployed and lived alone, was charged March 31 with five counts related to the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl. He was released from jail the same day on $25,000 bond and faced a preliminary hearing May 4.

North Strabane Lt. Daniel Levi said Mr. Glen had befriended the girl, who between November 2010 and February 2011 would visit him several times a week. Police said he would provide her with alcohol and take her to buy clothes. They also had sex during the visits.

The girl never reported the encounters, but neighbors called her mother when they noticed the girl visiting Mr. Glen regularly, and her mother called police, Lt. Levi said.

During an interview with police, Mr. Glen denied having sex with the girl, Lt. Levi said. ..Source.. by Sean D. Hamill, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
