9-1-2010 California:HUNTINGTON BEACH - – A man who was about to report to jail for molesting a 4-year-old apparently killed himself at his Huntington Beach home, according to City News Service.
Prosecutors say Ronald Steven Bell, 47, took his life on the same day that he was scheduled to begin a one-year sentence for molesting his girlfriend's daughter, the news service reported.
Huntington Beach Police confirmed that they had responded to reports of a body in a residence in the 8200 block of San Angelo Drive early Tuesday morning. Orange County Coroner's officials verified that the body has been identified as Bell but indicated that an official cause of death has not been determined.

Child molester about to serve jail time reportedly kills himself

A Huntington Beach man apparently killed himself on the day he was scheduled to report to jail to serve a one-year term for molesting his girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter, a prosecutor said today.
Ronald Steven Bell, 47, pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to a felony count of committing a lewd or lascivious act with a minor and was sentenced to a year in jail and five years of probation.
Bell, who also was required to register as a sex offender for life, was supposed to turn himself in Tuesday, Deputy District Attorney Robert Mestman said.
Huntington Beach police were sent to the 8200 block of San Angelo Drive about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday on a death investigation call and found Bell dead in his home.
Bell apparently took his own life, Mestman said.
The child molestation occurred on Nov. 1, 2008. Bell was watching porn films in the bedroom of his girlfriend's home, with her daughter sleeping nearby, Mestman said. When the child woke up, he forced her to touch his private parts, the prosecutor said. ..Source.. by Daily Breeze
